The display, the camera, the battery, a little extra water resistance, and a better charger. When you boil it all down, those are the only real differences between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro model. So here’s how the three phones stack up.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro: Display
The iPhone 11 makes do with an LCD panel, while the iPhone 11 pro feature an OLED screen. While little seems to have changed on paper about the iPhone 11. 6.1-inch Liquid Retina, it turns out to be brighter and registers 113% of the SRGB color gamut, which is nothing close to what you get with an OLED panel, though the iPhone 11 colors are very accurate.
When you look at the Super Retina XDR display that graces the 11pro you will get a sense of brightness, because it hits 752 nits on our light meter
Although the colors on the Super Retina XDR display aren’t as vibrant as what you get from the OLED panels the colors are accurate as Apple makes in turning its display to be less saturated. For both phones, the spatial audio features really make a difference when watching videos. The wider sound stage, along with Dolby Atmos’ support, puts audio all around you creating a more immersive experience.
The iPhone 11 features a smack dab in the middle of the iPhone 11 pro and the 11 pro features Haptic Touch, instead of 3D Touch.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro: Design
Apple didn’t deviate too much from the formula is presented in terms of the entry-level iPhone 11 which is sandwiched between the 11 pro
iPhone 11: 75.7×150.9×8.3mm which has aluminum and glass design, tough glass in a smartphone, paired with strong, durable, aerospace-grade aluminum. This phone is also the thickest
iPhone 11 pro: 71.4x144x8.1mm.The same tough glass as iPhone 11 with a premium textured matte finish on the back, paired with polished, surgical-grade stainless steel. This phone is the most compact model.
Despite the differences in size, both phones all share the same aesthetics, with a notched display and all-glass back with a new square camera array. the 11 pro, however, features stainless steel sides while the iPhone 11 has aluminum sides. The cheaper iPhone 11 even has the same square camera bump as the pro, despite only having two lenses.
Both phones have no head jack.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 pro: Rear cameras
The rear camera system is where Apple truly differentiates its two classes of iPhone. Apple is making a big deal out of the new triple-camera array on the iPhone 11pro model, but the dual camera lens on the iPhone 11 is no slouch.
Camera 1: 12MP wide, f/1.8, OIS
Camera 2: 12MP ultra wide/2.4, 120-degree FOV
iPhone 11 pro:
Camera 1:12MP wide, f/1.8, OIS
Camera 2: 12MP telephoto/2.0, OIS, 2x optical zoom
Camera 3: 12MP ultra-wide, f/2.4, 120-degree FOV
The obvious difference is the addition of the telephoto camera on the iPhone 11 pro. So while the iphone11 can go from 0.5x (ultra wide) to 1x (wide), the iPhone 11 pro goes from 0.5x to 2x (telephoto), for a total of 4x optical zoom.
The triple-camera system in the iPhone 11 Pro is more than just an extra lens and is calibrated individually for things like white balance and exposure and then the three cameras are calibrated for the module to module alignment so it more than just a lens.
Nonetheless, both cameras have very similar features. There’s a new Night mode for taking useable shots in extremely low light; portraits mode and portrait lighting;next-generation smart HDR; and advanced red-eye correction and auto image stabilization. And both phones snap simultaneous wide and ultra-wide pics each time you shoot.
As far as video, both phones record in 4k at up to 60fps and feature audio zoom (which focuses the microphone on your subject as you zoom), brighter true tone flash, and the new QuickTake video that lets you hold the shutter to quickly switch to video mode.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 pro: Battery/charging
iPhone 11: wireless charging onboard and has fast-charged but cannot be compared to 11 pros as iPhone 11 has a 5w charging adapter unlike the 11 pros which comes with an 18w adapter, users would have to buy an 18w adapter if they need the fast charge.
The battery will last up to 17 hours
iPhone 11 pro: wireless charging and has 18w adapter which makes it charge so fast i.e. charging up to 55% in thirty minutes. The battery can last up to 18 hours.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 pro: sound
Apple has taken audio ever further with the iPhone 11. All models feature spatial audio, a 3D sound model made possible by a new sound visualizer. And with that comes the Dolby Atmos support, which should sound crisper, clearer, and more immersive on all of the new iPhones with two small speakers.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 pro: Biometrics
Apple’s latest phones all have Face ID for 3D facial recognition. It works the same and it’s 30% faster and has improved performance and better recognition from longer distances.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 pro: Water Resistance
Both phones are rated for the highest IP68 water resistance, but the iPhone 11 can be dunked in 2meters of water (6.5feet) for up to 30 minutes with no ill effects.
While the 11 pro has IP68 water resistance, can be dunked in 4 meters of water up to 30 minutes
